Cards & Payments β Virtual Cards & mtripe π³
Payments in Marv's marketplaces are made by card. Here we'll gently explain virtual cards and how payments work (mtripe). No real money is ever involved, so read on with peace of mind π
What is a virtual card? π³
A Marv card is a virtual (screen-only) credit card issued inside the web. No plastic card arrives in the mail. Think of it as the "payment method" you use to check out in the marketplaces.
- Cards only work inside Marv
- All payments are in β¬ (Marv Coin)
- They have nothing to do with real money or real credit cards
What you can do with a card π§Ύ
- Pay in the marketplaces (marzon / marucari / marveats)
- Review your statement later
- Freeze (temporarily pause) a card if needed
Cards also have things like a spending limit, so you can manage yourself and avoid overspending.
mtripe = how checkout works π§
When you buy something, a payment system called mtripe runs behind the scenes. Shops (member merchants) never touch your wallet or BANK directly β mtripe safely handles only the "checkout."
You barely have to think about it. Press "Buy," mtripe runs the card payment, and then you just receive the items in-game π (see Marketplaces for receiving).
Card safety π
Cards are important, so they're well protected.
- For sensitive actions like revealing your card number or freezing a card, we confirm with two-factor authentication (a numeric code sent on Discord).
- Secret details like the card number are kept strongly encrypted. They are never stored in plain text.
When a code arrives, it's a sign you're being protected. Enter it with confidence π
A reminder β β¬ is an internal currency πΆ
Marv's cards and payments all stay within β¬ (Marv Coin).
- No real money is used
- It can't be exchanged for real money
- You can't buy in-game power with money (Pay-to-Win is forbidden)
